Questions

What is LeagueDay?

Live qualification trackers for every sport. For each competition we show who’s in, who’s out, who’s on the bubble, and the exact result each team needs — in plain language, with a simulated % chance, updated as games finish.

Where does the data come from?

Standings, scores and schedules come from public sports data feeds (ESPN). Those are factual records. The percentages and qualification scenarios are our own — see how it works.

How accurate are the percentages?

The % is a Monte-Carlo simulation — we play out the remaining games thousands of times and count how often each team qualifies. It’s a model, not a prophecy: a 10% outcome still happens 1 in 10 times. Clinched teams are pinned to IN, eliminated teams to OUT.

How often does it update?

Automatically, a few minutes after any game finishes — no manual updates. Every page shows when it was last refreshed.

Which leagues do you cover?

Right now: the World Cup, MLB, the NBA, and MLS. NFL, NHL, European soccer and college are next — each new league lights up live on its own season calendar.

Why isn’t my league live yet?

Either we haven’t built it yet (it’s on the list) or it’s out of season. Trackers run live during their qualification window and freeze into an archive the rest of the year. Want one prioritised? Tell us.

Are you affiliated with the leagues?

No. LeagueDay is independent and fan-made — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, MLB, the NBA, MLS, ESPN, or any league or team.

How is this different from ESPN’s Playoff Machine?

We lead with the answer in plain English (“win and you’re through”) instead of making you pick games and infer, we cover multiple sports under one roof, we encode the official tiebreakers, and we’re always live — not gated to late season.

Can I use this for betting?

It’s informational, not betting advice, and the model can be wrong — always confirm against official sources before any decision that matters.
