How the 100 Year Vision League worked
Two regions
The 20 J1 clubs were split into East (Greater Tokyo) and West, each a 10-team home-and-away round-robin. A drawn game went to a penalty shoot-out — the winner took 2 points, the loser 1.
The final
The two region winners met over two legs to decide the champion. Both finalists qualified for the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite.
A one-off
This special tournament bridged the switch to an autumn-spring calendar. There was no relegation; the normal J1 League resumes in 2026-27.
