The format
Four regional qualifiers — Africa, the Americas, Asia & Oceania and Europe — run over six windows from November 2025 to March 2027.
The spots
31 teams qualify through the regions; hosts Qatar take the 32nd place automatically.
The windows
Teams meet in short home-and-away windows spread across the season, not one continuous tournament.
