How the Belgian Pro League works

Regular season, then a split

16 clubs play a home-and-away regular season, then the table splits into a Champions Playoff, a Europe Playoff and a Relegation Playoff. The Champions Playoff decides the title of Belgium.

European places

The champion qualifies for the Champions League, 2nd for the Europa League and 3rd for the Conference League — some of Europe’s richest prizes.

Relegation

The club at the foot of the final table drops to the second division, replaced by the team coming up. Every playoff point matters.
