How the Danish Superliga works

The format

12 clubs play a regular season, then the table splits into a Championship round and a Relegation round; the top of the flattened final table is the champion of Denmark.

European places

The champion qualifies for the Champions League, 2nd for the Europa League and 3rd for the Conference League — some of Europe’s richest prizes.

Relegation

The clubs at the foot of the final table drop to the second tier, replaced by the teams coming up. Every point matters.
